Commissioner Terry made a motion
to approve the agenda as presented.
Commissioner Patrick seconded.

Session at 10:00 a.m.
Commissioner Patrick made a motion
to approve the minutes of May 24, 2005 as corrected. Commissioner Terry seconded.
All voted aye.
Commissioner Terry made a motion
to approve the checks and claims.
Commissioner Patrick seconded. All
voted aye.
Ty Kaufman, County Attorney,
joined the meeting at 10:10 a.m. and requested 10 minutes, from 10:10 to 10:20
a.m., in executive session to discuss non-elected personnel in his office. Commissioner Patrick made a motion to go
into executive session as requested.
Commissioner Terry seconded. All
voted aye. The
Commissioners returned to open session at 10:20 a.m. No action was taken during executive session. Mr. Kaufman requested to advertise for a
legal secretary at 10/A on the pay scale.
Commissioner Terry made a motion to approve the request to advertise for
a legal secretary at 10/A. Commissioner
Patrick seconded. All
voted aye.
Commissioner Terry made a motion
to approve the adds register dated May 27, 2005. Commissioner Patrick seconded. All voted aye.
A letter and
contract was received from the Department of Revenue, Division of Property
Valuation for approval and signature.
The contract is for a temporary appraiser to be appointed by the State
to serve as McPherson County Appraiser until the Board of County Commissioners
appoints an appraiser effective July 1, 2005.
Commissioner Terry made a motion to sign the contract as presented. Commissioner Patrick seconded. All
voted aye.
There was brief
discussion on the County’s Strategic Plan for the Enhanced Enterprise Zone
Designation. No action was taken at
this time.
Commissioner
Terry made a motion to approve a Personnel Change Notice (PCN) for end of
probation (12/B to 12/C) for Nancy Krehbiel, Personal Property Specialist in
the Appraiser’s Office. Commissioner
Patrick seconded. All voted aye.
Commissioner Patrick shared a newspaper from Greeley
Colorado with an article about the Roller Mill at the Old Mill Museum in
Lindsborg. Commissioner Patrick also
shared a letter he received from the Eagle Rock Land Owner’s Association. This is an advisory committee being set up
to discuss concerns that landowners have about wind farms. The Committee will be meeting June 3rd.
The Commissioners recessed at 11:05 a.m. and reconvened
at 1:30 p.m. in Lindsborg at the Old Mill for a work session with Old Mill
Staff and Robert Metzker of Metzker Restorations. Mr. Metzker discussed stripping and painting the Depot Building
on the Museum grounds. He also updated
the Commissioners on work his company will be doing on the Swedish Pavilion
(with private funding) and a long-term maintenance plan for the windows he
restored in the Roller Mill building.
No action was taken during the work session. At 3:05 p.m. the Commissioners recessed and Commissioners Patrick
and Schroeder reconvened at 1:00 p.m. on June 1, 2005 at Public Works for a
mower w/flex arm demonstration. At 2:15
p.m. Commissioner Patrick made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Schroeder seconded.
