Three items were added to the
agenda: 1: Appoint Voting Delegate for NACo Annual Conference; 2) All School’s
Day Button Committee – Draw for Winning ASD Buttons; 3) Dave Bohnenblust,
Public Works Director – Request to Award Bids for Traffic Striping Paint &
Beads. Commissioner Terry made a motion
to approve the agenda as amended.
Commissioner Patrick seconded. All
voted aye.
No one spoke for Public Input
Session at 10:00 a.m.
D. Brillinger, Debra Kerns and Jennifer
Willard, All Schools Day (ASD) Button Committee members joined the meeting at
10:05. Ms Brillinger and Ms Kerns asked
Commissioner Patrick to draw the winning ASD Button Number winners. The winning numbers and prizes are as
follows: 1st Prize of $1,000 in merchandise from the Furniture
Store, #1605; winning number for a bicycle, #2044; winning numbers for water
passes at the Water park were #756 and #2423.
Ms Willard asked Commissioner Patrick to draw one name from all the
correct button hunt entries for a $500 cash prize and the winner was Sandra
Winter of Galva.
Commissioner Terry made a motion
to approve the checks and claims.
Commissioner Patrick seconded. All
voted aye.
Commissioner Terry made a motion
to approve the landfill abatement. Commissioner Patrick seconded.
All voted aye.
Dave Bohnenblust, Public Works
Director, joined the meeting at 10:15 a.m. to request to award the bid for 2005
traffic striping paint and beads. Bids
were received from six vendors. Low bid
for striping paint (6,460 gallons white and 2,915 gallons yellow) was from
Ennis paint of Texas at a cost of $7.06 per gallon for white and $6.90 per
gallon for yellow. Low bid for glass
beads (37,200 pounds) was from Sherwin-Williams at $.26 per pound. Commissioner Terry made a motion to award
the paint/bead bids to the low bidders as presented. Commissioner Patrick seconded.
All voted aye.
Mr. Witte presented a NACo 2005
Credentials Voting Identification Form for the Commissioners to appoint a
voting delegate for the 2005 NACo Annual Conference July 15-21, 2005. Commissioner Terry made a motion to appoint
Commissioner Patrick as the McPherson County Voting Delegate at the 2005 NACo
Annual Conference. Commissioner Patrick
seconded. All voted aye.
Linda Kirkwood, McPherson
EMS, was unable to attend the meeting because of a job related emergency
situation in the county. Mr. Witte
presented the proclamation to designate the week of May 15-21, 2005 as
Emergency Medical Services Week in McPherson County. Commissioners Terry read the proclamation and made a motion to
sign the proclamation as presented.
Commissioner Patrick seconded. All voted aye.
The Commissioners recessed at 11:25 a.m. and reconvened,
including Chairman Schroeder, at 1:00 p.m. to discuss the County Appraiser
position. Commissioner Terry made a
motion to offer the position of McPherson County Appraiser to Dianna
Carter-Frantz, RMA, effective July 1, 2005.
Commissioner Patrick seconded. All voted aye.
Commissioner
Patrick made a motion to approve the minutes of May 10, 2005. Commissioner Terry seconded. All voted aye.
At 1:10 p.m. the Commissioners recessed and reconvened at
1:15 at Public Works for a work session with Public Works personnel. No action was taken during the work
session. Commissioner Patrick left the
work session at 4:00 p.m. At 4:55 p.m.
Commissioners Schroeder and Terry recessed and all three Commissioners
reconvened at 5:30 p.m. at Perkins Restaurant where they met with the McPherson
Area Solid Waste Utility (MASWU) for their annual meeting. The Commissioners took no action during the
MASWU meeting. At 8:30 p.m.
Commissioner Terry made a motion to adjourn.
Commissioner Patrick seconded. All voted aye.
