Patrick made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Commissioner Schroeder seconded. All voted aye.
There was no public input.
Commissioner
Schroeder made a motion to approve the minutes of January 6, 2004 as
presented. Commissioner Patrick
seconded. All voted aye.
Commissioner
Schroeder made a motion to approve the checks and claims register of January 9,
2004. Commissioner Patrick
seconded. All voted aye.
Commissioner
Schroeder made a motion to approve the adds and abates. Commissioner Patrick seconded. All voted aye.

Public Hearing was held at 10:10 a.m. concerning economic development tax
incentives for Aero Transportation Products, Inc. Mr. Kyle Hawk read a letter from the McPherson Industrial
Development Company, Inc. in favor of issuing the requested tax incentives of
50% for 10 years on machinery and equipment ($700,000). There was no comment from the audience. Commissioner Patrick made a motion to
approve Resolution 04-01 “A Resolution Granting Economic Development Tax
Incentives to Aero Transportation Products, Inc.” Commissioner Schroeder seconded.
Chairman Terry voted aye.
Commissioner Schroeder voted aye.
Commissioner Patrick voted aye.
Dave
Bohnenblust, Public Works Director, joined the meeting at 10:30 a.m. and
presented a Personnel Change Notice (PCN) for end of probation (11/A to 11/B)
for Troy Schroeder, Maintenance Worker II, effective January 18, 2004. Commissioner Patrick made a motion to have
the Chairman sign the PCN as presented.
Commissioner Schroeder seconded.
All voted aye. Chairman
Terry presented Mr. Bohnenblust with his certificate of approval as County
Engineer for McPherson County from the State Department of Transportation
Dick
Beasley, Community Corrections Director, joined the meeting at 10:50 a.m. and
presented Personnel Change Notices (PCN’s) for end of probation (22/A to 22/B
State) for Timothy Gadde and Betty Laney.
Both are Intensive Supervision Officers in the Harvey County Community
Corrections Office. Mr. Gadde’s end of
probation is effective January 18, 2004 and Ms. Laney’s on January 4,
2004. Commissioner Schroeder made a
motion to have the Chairman sign the PCN’s as presented. Commissioner Patrick seconded. All voted aye.
At
11:15 the Commissioners recessed and reconvened at 1:00 p.m. at Public Works
for a work session with Public Works personnel. At 3:50 p.m. Commissioner Schroeder left, at 4:30 p.m.
Commissioners Terry and Patrick recessed.
No action was taken during the work session. The Commissioners reconvened at 8:30 a.m. on January 14, 2004 at
KNGL/KBBE Radio station where they were interviewed by Chamber of Commerce
Director Cheryl Lyn Higgins on the direction of the County for 2004 and things
accomplished in 2003. No action was
taken by the Commissioners during that time.
At 9:00 a.m. Commissioner Schroeder made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Patrick seconded. All voted aye.
