McPherson County Public Works
Public Works is the largest department within McPherson County government. The department is responsible for the County’s infrastructure, consisting of over 370 miles of roads and over 1,200 drainage structures. The department has 35 full time employees working within Administration, Engineering, Traffic, Roadway Maintenance, Bridge & Drainage and Fleet Maintenance divisions.
The department performs a wide variety of functions including surveying, design, construction, inspection, maintenance, traffic signing, right of way management, snow & ice removal, fleet maintenance, permitting and quality control. Our goal is to continually improve the overall condition of McPherson County’s roads, bridges, signing and drainage.

The Public Works Department is dedicated to maintaining all of the County’s roads, bridges and right of ways effectively and efficiently, to provide a safe roadway for the traveling public and to provide services, programs, and facilities that enhance the quality of life in McPherson County.
