Lindsborg, KS - Plan now to celebrate the holidays with simple pleasures at the Old Mill Museum's annual "Old-Fashioned Christmas" event, Saturdays, December 7th and 14th, in Lindsborg. From 1pm to 5pm on the 7th, and 5:00 to 8:30 pm on the 14th the museum will be filled with the sights and sounds of an old-fashioned prairie Christmas.
The laughter of children and the sound of Santa’s bells ring out across the grounds. Concerts of beautiful seasonal music will be heard both weeks. The music schedule is filled with selections sure to bring out the holiday spirit in us all. Performers include Thad Beach; The Hieberts – Dulicimers Etc on Dec 7th; Smoky Valley Madrigals, Silver Tones Flute Choir, McPherson’s Men in Harmony, Smoky Valley Men’s Choir, and Mennonite Chorus on Dec. 14th.
Families are invited to enjoy the music and other activities sure to bring back the flavor of Christmas past. Children can enjoy old-fashioned crafts and make ornaments to take home. A shepherd, in traditional dress, tells the age-old Christmas story. The popular Smoky Valley Drama Team performs the drama Christmas on the Prairie on December 14th.
Tour guides will be on hand for guided tours in the flour mill. Between activities, everyone can enjoy delicious refreshments and shop for those special gifts at the museum's gift shop.
